Establishment
The Habibia Soofie Saheb Badsha Peer (HSBP)
Institute of Learning was established in the year 2017. Our doors opened to learners on the 28th of January 2017. As a private Islamic school we started with 54 students with our numbers this year being doubled.

HSBP is dedicated to the spreading of Islamic
education, secular knowledge, character building
and embedding in our learners the trait of
servitude to humanity.

Mission Statement
The HSBP Institute of Learning will provide
students with the necessary knowledge that will enable them to navigate through the dynamics of life. We will aspire to provide a diverse educational experience for students to realize their true potential and to discover themselves. We will ensure that our teaching methods evolve for effective living in a changing world.
Location
The HSBP Institute of Learning is situated in the beautiful city of Durban, South Africa. Our
school is based on a property that was established by Hazrath Soofie Saheb in the year 1910.
We neighbour the famous Habibia Soofie Saheb Badsha Peer Musjid and Orphanage.
Our Heritage
The book of our glorious history opens in 1895 when a humble servant of Allah u who was acting upon
the instructions of his spiritual guide Hazrath Kwaja Habib Ali Sha t, set foot in Durban South Africa.
In the space of sixteen years he accomplished what would have taken another a lifetime to achieve.
His name was Sha Goolam Muhammed Ibn Ibrahim Qadi t better known as Hazrath Soofie Saheb t.
His accomplishments were many, and of his many accomplishments was connecting our hearts to a
friend of Allah u Shaykh Ahmed al-Qaderi better known as Hazrath Badsha Peer t. From the time he
located his blessed grave, Soofie Saheb t and Badsha Peer became synonymous t, where, if you
remember one you have to bring to mind the other. These three giants have became our inspiration.
Our commitment to them and what they stood for, gave rise to the Habibia Soofie Saheb Badsha Peer
khanqah.
We have had many accomplishments since inception which was over a 123 years ago. In recent years we
have shifted our focus to education, something that was dear to our founders. We established a nursery,
reopened madaris for Islamic education to young minds, a hifz academy for the preservation of the noble
Quran in young hearts, and the Soofie Academy for higher Islamic education, to enrich minds towards the
understanding of the sacred Islamic Shariah.
Last year we reached another milestone and we established our private Islamic primary school aptly
named the Habibia Soofie Saheb Badsha Peer Institute of Learning. By the grace of Allah u our Institute
of learning has flourished and seen many successes.
We have created an Islamic environment, as the atmosphere that surrounds our learners has a major
influence on their belief system, values and ethics. Exposing our learners to a well conducted Islamic
environment is the key to building good manners and creating in them an Islamic identity. We hope in
the new future to innovate new methods of imparting knowledge in both the secular and Islamic fields.
